Spain is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. Three
quarters of the country is over 500m above sea level, and a
quarter of it is over 1000m above sea level. The most famous
mountain ranges in Spain are the Pyrenees and the Sierra Nevada.
Andalucía produces 40% of the worlds olive oil.
The normal opening hours for shops are Monday to Saturday
from around 9am until about 1.30pm. After siesta they re-open
from around 4pm until 8pm or 9pm. Large stores may stay open all
day. Most shops are closed on Sundays. |
